Serverless Computing Services

AWS Lambda

AWS Lambda allows codes to be run without provisioning or managing servers. StratusGrid uses AWS Lambda to provide customers with a serverless, scalable, fast, and reliable solution for running scripts. AWS Lambda enables StratusGrid the ability to architect event-driven solutions by allowing for these scripts to be invoked by CloudWatch and other AWS services. Each code is run and is automatically scaled according to your application. Customers are only charged for every 100ms that the customers’ code itself executes and the number of times the code is triggered.

See the Amazon documentation for more information.

Amazon API Gateway

Amazon API Gateway is a managed service that makes the creation, publication, maintenance, monitoring, and security of APIs easy. StratusGrid uses Amazon API Gateway to handle the task of securing and processing API calls to the customer’s applications and other AWS services. Security, elasticity, flexibility, and on-demand pricing are some of the features that make Amazon API Gateway the ideal solution for applications that use APIs to send and receive data at any scale.

See the Amazon documentation for more information.

Amazon DynamoDB

Amazon DynamoDB is a key-value and document database that delivers single-digit millisecond performance at any scale. StratusGrid uses Amazon DynamoDB to furnish customers with a fully managed, highly scalable, and flexible NoSQL DB without any idle compute costs. DynamoDB utilizes the power of serverless computing and can handle more than 10 trillion requests per day and can support peaks of more than 20 million requests per second.
